Software Design Methods

Because software design is my primary profession, it is probably worth devoting extra space to my design methods. My approach depends heavily on a deep understanding of the user community through collaborative design, prototype evaluations and field work. The next step is interaction design to specify the user's goals, the set of actions they will take to achieve them, and the system's responses to those actions. The structures defined in interaction design determine everything else: user interface design, system architecture and information design. Throughout this process, I implement a series of prototypes and evaluate them with my users.

This is an iterative process, with each stage informing the deeper structure of the activities it depends upon.
